E: Here on this photo: Whitby, North East of Yorkshire. For the last few days we have got stormy weather but also bright spells and great gray skies. We won't easily forget that part of Great-Britain with its picturesque little towns & villages at the sea and also the moody "Moors"around Egton, the place where we were camping.

Newton-under-Roseberry
E: In late spring Newton Woods is an amazing place to hear varieties of birds and to admire the stunning blue carpets of bluebells.

Here above: Roseberry Topping, on the left.
* Chris Rea dedicated the song Chisel Hill from the album Shamrock Diaries to Roseberry Topping.
Roseberry Topping can be seen from many miles away and was long used by sailors and farmers as an indicator of impending bad weather. An old rhyme commemorates this usage:
When Roseberry Topping wears a cap, let Cleveland then beware of a clap!

And it's cold and it's wet
And you feel like you're part of all time
How true!
Driving on the A173, between Guisborough and Great Ayton, we found that beautiful forest with many walks...

Really nice sunny day here in Holland, quite rainy weather in the greatest part of France but it looks like the sun is trying to come through in the UK. two more days and we will be there!

Langue, Taal, Language...
I will try, as often as possible, to write here in French, Dutch and English. My first mail was meant to let you know about this blog and let you enjoy a little bit of our 4 weeks journey through Scotland.
We are leaving next Sunday, April 28th, taking the ferry in IJmuiden, near A'dam, and arriving Monday early morning in Newcastle upon Tyne. Then... Going north to Scotland, the Highlands and the Island of Skye. Het seemed a perfect way to tell you about our holidays and the stunning sceneries of Scotland.

Weather forecast: SW Scotland, Lothian Borders
UK Outlook for Saturday 27 Apr to Monday 6 May 2013:
Most areas will be dry and bright at first this weekend but a band of cloud and rain is expected to move southeastwards across the UK during Saturday and Sunday. Colder, more unsettled weather will follow in behind this band of rain, and it is likely to remain unsettled for much of the rest of April. As a result most areas will see sunny spells and showers, and some of the showers could be heavy with a risk of hail and thunder. It will also be breezy at times. Temperatures are likely to be colder than normal for the time of year with a chance of overnight frosts, especially in rural areas. There are signs of warmer, more settled conditions becoming established across the UK at the beginning of May.

UK Outlook for Tuesday 7 May 2013 to Tuesday 21 May 2013:
There are signs that the relatively cool and unsettled conditions will have given way to somewhat more settled weather around or just before the start of this period, with an easterly weather type during early May which will then probably prevail into the middle of the month. Given that the North Sea is colder than normal for spring, this will leave eastern and northeastern coasts colder than average, whilst further inland daytime temperatures will most likely be around average, and perhaps a little above average in the west and northwest. Meanwhile, more settled weather also increases the chances of below average rainfall amounts, especially in western and northwestern regions, with near or above average sunshine.
